In an interesting twist on JioCinema's series 'When Athletes Pick Up Another Sport,' cricket stalwart Harbhajan Singh and boxing ace Vikas Yadav stepped out of their familiar domains to venture into each other's sports.

With just a week until Paris 2024, the seasoned cricketer traded his cricket ball for boxing gloves, while Yadav exchanged his powerful punches for a cricket bat, showcasing their extraordinary versatility and athletic prowess. Yadav provided Singh with an intense lesson in counter-attacking, prompting Singh to compare the sport to chess due to its strategic nature.

'Today, I realised that boxing is a highly scientific sport,' Singh told JioCinema. 'It's not just about throwing punches – there's a lot of strategy and thinking involved.' During a drill where Singh had to catch boxing pads in rapid succession, he succeeded fourteen out of twenty times, impressing Yadav. 'I know that after ten attempts, people tend to get tired and miss the simplest of catches, but he has done a lot better than some of our Indian boxers,' Yadav said.

When Singh challenged Yadav to demonstrate his six-hitting skills, the boxer managed to hit two sixes off an over from the cricketer. 'This is the first time I've applauded a batter hitting my deliveries for sixes,' Singh noted. 'We are not competing, but celebrating each other. It was amazing to see his 'never die' attitude – even though it wasn't his game, he still took on the challenge. Champions like these can never lose.' (ANI)
