United States captain Tyler Adams is set to miss the start of the Premier League season as he recovers from back surgery, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola announced.

Adams, who previously suffered from a hamstring issue, underwent surgery after participating in a full game for the United States in its 1-0 loss to Uruguay at the Copa America on July 1.

Iraola mentioned that while it's uncertain how long Adams will be sidelined, he will definitely not be fit for the season's start and could possibly return by September or October. Adams joined Bournemouth from Leeds last summer.
