Italy's Jasmine Paolini will compete against the Czech Republic's Barbora Krejcikova for the prestigious Wimbledon women's championship.
This Saturday's match at Centre Court marks the first singles final at the All England Club for both players. Seventh-seeded Paolini is eyeing the trophy after her recent runner-up finish at Roland Garros last month. Notably, she is the first woman since Serena Williams in 2016 to reach the finals of both the French Open and Wimbledon in the same season.
Krejcikova, ranked 31st, is in pursuit of her second major singles title, having previously won the 2021 French Open. Moreover, she boasts an impressive record in women's doubles, with seven Grand Slam titles, including two at Wimbledon.
The emerging champion will become the eighth different woman to hold the Wimbledon title in the last eight years, following last year's winner, Marketa Vondrousova, who was ousted in the first round last week.
On Sunday, Carlos Alcaraz will challenge Novak Djokovic in the men's final.
