El Salvador earthquake LIVE: Rehabilitation work underway; new aftershocks being recorded

A shallow 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of El Salvador on Thursday near San Salvador, the US Geological Survey said. The quake struck around 40 kilometres south of the capital, the USGS said.

El Salvador authorities have issued tsunami warning and advised people not to venture into sea.
