Environment minister Bhupender Yadav stressed the urgency of accelerating efforts and enhancing coordination to significantly curb air pollution in Delhi-NCR before winter arrives. He called for strong enforcement policies to ensure better air quality.
Yadav urged a collaborative approach among stakeholders to address air pollution efficiently. Highlighting the crucial months ahead, he called for timely execution of planned interventions to protect health and improve public life quality. Joined by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and officials, Yadav reviewed ongoing measures, emphasising the importance of road-dust mitigation and the deployment of mechanised cleaning tools by 2026. He also pinpointed gaps in construction waste processing and urged additional facility setups by 2026 to mitigate delays.
Focusing on industries in non-conforming areas, Yadav directed intensified inspections and suggested creating task forces to manage air pollution hotspots. He stressed the need for coordinated agency action and monthly reviews to ensure accountability. "Air pollution control requires collective responsibility," Yadav asserted, reaffirming the Centre's commitment to working with Delhi to ensure cleaner air.
