An MCD cleaning truck caught fire on the Geeta Colony flyover in Delhi's Shahdara on Monday afternoon, leading to a significant traffic jam, as confirmed by the Delhi Fire Service (DFS).

The fire incident was reported at 2:56 pm, prompting the dispatch of two fire tenders to the scene. The truck was quickly consumed by flames, sending thick smoke billowing above the flyover, and creating an alarm for motorists and local residents.

Firefighters successfully managed to control the blaze swiftly, preventing any spread, and no injuries were reported. The truck driver acted swiftly, vacating the truck after detecting smoke, thus avoiding potential harm. Traffic was heavily disrupted on this busy thoroughfare, causing a pile-up of vehicles on both sides of the flyover.
