Tragic Clash: Tigress Found Dead After Forest Guard Attack in Maharashtra

A forest operation in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district turned tragic when a tigress, T-84, succumbed shortly after critically injuring a forest guard. The incident unfolded in the Sindewahi Forest Range, where the tigress had ventured into Ratnapur village, triggering concern among locals.
Officials noted the tigress was attempting to retreat with her three cubs when forest guard Sajjan Parekar was attacked. Parekar was swiftly taken to Sindewahi Hospital before being transferred to Chandrapur for advanced medical attention. The subsequent hour saw authorities find the tigress dead near a paddy field.
Autopsy examinations are set to ascertain the cause of T-84’s death, as initial assessments indicate her organs appeared intact. Meanwhile, a search operation is ongoing for the tigress's cubs, with forest department teams striving to ensure their safety.
