Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Vows to Tackle Illegal Constructions after Fatal Accidents
In response to recent road accidents resulting in the deaths of minors in the Shalimar Bagh area, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced plans to remove over 140 illegal constructions. Such encroachments are blamed for traffic hazards and fatalities, narrowing roads, and impeding safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.

Following two tragic road accidents in Shalimar Bagh, which claimed the lives of minors, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has pledged to dismantle more than 140 illegal constructions in the area.
Highlighting the dangers posed by these encroachments, Gupta noted that roadside obstructions have long troubled pedestrians and drivers, contributing to deadly accidents.
The recent accidents, including a fatal collision involving a five-year-old girl, underscore the urgent need to clear the roads, as instructed by the Delhi High Court, ensuring smoother and safer traffic from North Delhi.
