A massive fire erupted at a chemical factory in Gujarat's Bharuch district on Thursday afternoon, injuring at least 16 workers. The blaze was reported at Metropolitan Eximchem Pvt Ltd, situated in the Jhagadia area, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Meena.
Emergency services including local police, fire tenders, and ambulances quickly responded, aiming to manage the situation and provide medical assistance to the injured, who are now receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Currently, no fatalities have been reported, authorities confirmed.
The fire, visible from miles away due to thick plumes of smoke, prompted the deployment of additional fire tenders from Ankleshwar's disaster prevention and management centre to assist in battling the flames. Efforts to bring the fire under control remain ongoing, officials said.
