Delhi Government's Infrastructure Overhaul: Combating Floods and Boosting Connectivity in Palam

The Delhi government is implementing long-term infrastructure improvements in the Outer Delhi area of Palam. These projects include a new bridge, reinforced embankments, and new water and sewer lines. The upgrades aim to alleviate waterlogging, ease traffic congestion, and enhance basic services for local residents, benefiting thousands of families.

The government of Delhi has initiated a series of infrastructure projects aimed at resolving persistent civic issues in Outer Delhi's Palam region, according to PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh.

Among these developments are a newly inaugurated double-lane bridge and reinforced concrete box bridges designed to strengthen the Palam Link Drain's embankments and reduce the risk of flooding during the monsoon season. Singh noted that these projects would directly benefit thousands of local families by easing flooding, reducing traffic congestion, and improving essential services.

Further, the Delhi Jal Board has launched an ₹8 crore project to install new water and sewer lines in areas such as Mahavir Enclave and Ramphal Chowk, addressing longstanding issues in water supply and sanitation. Collectively, these efforts aim to mitigate everyday challenges faced by residents, including traffic and basic service gaps.
