The Delhi Traffic Police has released a traffic advisory in light of anticipated congestion during the Ramleela and Dussehra festivities across the city. The advisory urges commuters to steer clear of certain areas around the events, to follow traffic diversions, and to rely on public transport, especially the metro.
In relation to the Ramleela celebration at DDA Utsav Ground in IP Extension, officials have cautioned about potential pedestrian traffic and congestion from 5 pm to 11 pm. Heavy movement is also expected on Karkari Road, Road Number 57A, Vikas Marg, CCS Marg, and NH-24, with specific travel advice issued for key points.
The advisory suggests alternative routes, like Master Plan Road and CCS Road, to avoid delays. For celebrations at Kamla Nehru Park, up to 2,000 attendees are expected. Diversions are in place from Barafkhana and Clock Tower, and parking restrictions have been strengthened to ensure the convenience and safety of participants and road users.
