The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a heatwave warning for Saturday, predicting severe conditions in 35 mandals and heat waves in 223 mandals across the state.

APSDMA Managing Director R Kurmanadh highlighted that Srikakulam is likely to experience severe heatwaves in six mandals, with further alerts in Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, and Kakinada. East Godavari is also on high alert.

On Friday, Taticherla village in Prakasam district and Kamalapuram in YSR Kadapa recorded temperatures soaring to 42.6 degrees Celsius, with 181 locations statewide exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, adding to the growing concerns about extreme heat conditions.
