In a bid to alleviate infrastructure issues in Himachal Pradesh, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh proposed a mechanism for streamlining processes with external agencies on Wednesday in the Vidhan Sabha. Singh expressed concern over the undue delays in obtaining permissions from agencies like the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB).
Singh highlighted the critical problems people face in areas around the Kalka-Shimla and Shimla-Mataur four-lane projects. He pledged to address these issues with the chief minister and did not rule out legal action if necessary. The projects affect road access for locals, prompting a need for government intervention.
During Zero Hour, Congress MLA Sanjay Ratan criticized NHAI's handling of the Shimla-Matour project. He pointed out the absence of road access for Thana and Dehriyan villages due to deep excavations, leaving residents without a viable route for over six months. Frustration mounts as locals consider protests to demand vital infrastructure.
