Delhi experienced its hottest day of the season on Tuesday, recording a maximum temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported this as 1.1 notches above normal, with the Ridge area hitting an even higher 38.7 degrees Celsius, 4.9 notches above normal.
As temperatures soared, humidity levels varied between 22 percent and 59 percent. The day began with a minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. Forecasts suggest that Wednesday will see clear skies, with the maximum temperature possibly rising to 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum to about 18 degrees.
Meanwhile, air quality, which was in the 'poor' category with an AQI of 234 at 4 PM according to the Central Pollution Control Board, is expected to improve. The Air Quality Early Warning System predicts a shift to 'moderate' air quality beginning Wednesday, with it likely to remain that way for the following two days.
