YEIDA Demolishes Illegal Structures for Noida Airport Expansion
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority demolished 32 illegal structures in the Jewar Tehsil for the Noida Airport expansion. The operation was conducted without resistance. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), in collaboration with the district administration, conducted a demolition drive on Monday, dismantling 32 allegedly illegal buildings in various villages within the Jewar Tehsil.
Shailendra Singh, an Officer on Special Duty for YEIDA, reported that the operation began at 2 pm and lasted four hours, targeting villages such as Ramner, Sabauta, and Kishorepur in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The demolition proceeded without any resistance.
The structures were erected without official permission, conflicting with the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Act, 1976. Despite issued notices, the landowners continued illegal construction. The demolition occurred on land unlawfully occupied during the third phase of land acquisition for the upcoming Noida International Airport.
