Maharashtra's Coastal Highway: A New Era of Connectivity
The construction of the 523-km coastal highway from Rewas to Redi in Maharashtra has commenced, costing Rs 26,000 crore. Set to finish in three years, it will enhance connectivity between 93 coastal tourism sites, with creek bridges planned in the initial phase.

Maharashtra embarks on a major infrastructure project with the construction of a 523-km coastal highway connecting Rewas to Redi. Announced by minister Dada Bhuse in the legislative council, this ambitious venture promises to bolster tourism and regional connectivity.
The Rs 26,000 crore project is segmented into two phases. The first phase includes the construction of nine concrete creek bridges, crucial for seamless travel. Minister Bhuse highlighted that land acquisitions are nearly complete, with work orders already placed for five bridges.
This highway aims to link 93 coastal tourism sites, stretching from Raigad district's Rewas to Sindhudurg district's Redi, providing a significant boost to the region's tourism sector once completed in three years.
