In Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has mandated preventative tactics to counteract drinking water shortages and heat wave consequences during summer. He urged timely implementation of strategies to tackle these annual challenges.

Naidu emphasized proactive vigilance by directing departments to establish hydration centers and disseminate mobile alerts for incoming heat waves. An ambitious project aims to create over 12,000 water ponds costing Rs 35 crore, primarily to aid drought-prone livestock areas.

Additionally, Rs 39 crore has been allocated to ease municipal water demands through sustainable solutions like farm pond creation and reservoir desilting, under a national employment scheme. In efforts to prioritize health, work schedules are modified, and preparations for heatstroke cases are underway in local hospitals.
