Over 3 Lakh 'Pucca' Houses Built in J&K Under PMAY
Over 300,000 'pucca' houses were built in Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the last two years. Minister Javid Ahmad Dar stated that a survey is underway to include eligible households. Additionally, the state faced 1,288 house fires in the same period.

Over the past two years, more than 300,000 'pucca' houses have been constructed in Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, according to Javid Ahmad Dar, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
In response to a BJP assembly question, he revealed that a fresh survey is underway to ensure all eligible households are covered by the scheme. Of the total, 2,60,124 houses were completed in Jammu and 44,420 in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, addressing another query by Congress legislator Irfan Hafiz Lone, Dar noted the challenge of landless beneficiaries, stating that five marlas of state land are being allotted to aid those without land. Furthermore, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reported 1,288 houses lost to fires over two years, with compensation provided under SDRF norms.
