Andhra Pradesh Braces for Severe Heat Waves: 29 Mandals on Alert
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has issued a heat wave alert for 29 mandals in the state. Severe heat waves are expected in Chinturu and Kunavaram mandals. Scattered rains with thunderstorms are predicted, with temperatures nearing 40 degree Celsius in some regions.

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a forecast warning of heat waves across 29 mandals in the state on Monday. The agency specifically predicts severe conditions in Chinturu and Kunavaram mandals, located in Alluri Seetharamaraju district.
Other areas expected to be affected include three mandals each in Vizianagaram, East Godavari, Eluru, and Alluri Seetharamaraju districts; four in Srikakulam district; seven in Parvathipuram Manyam district; and one in NTR District. APSDMA Managing Director, R Kurmanadh, mentioned the possibility of scattered light rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in the North Andhra and Rayalaseema districts.
According to APSDMA, Pagidyala in Nandyala district recorded a temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday, followed by Atlur in YSR district at 39.5 degrees and Ibrahimpatnam in the NTR district at 39.2 degrees. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department forecasts thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in parts of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema.
