Determined to eliminate monsoon waterlogging in Delhi, the BJP-led city administration has mobilized all its MLAs to identify areas at risk and coordinate with relevant agencies for corrective actions, party leaders disclosed on Monday.
Efforts are focused on more than 325 identified waterlogging-prone locations, with MLAs collaborating with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi Jal Board (DJB), and other agencies to desilt drains and ensure adequate drainage during rains.
Chief Secretary and officers have been instructed by the government to take all necessary measures to prevent waterlogging this monsoon, a senior BJP leader emphasized. MLAs noted significant challenges in their constituencies due to clogged drains, with some reporting years of neglected desilting work leading to blocked wastewater flows.
