Advanced mapping firm Genesys International Corporation Ltd has been awarded a contract to generate a digital 3D map of the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad in Karnataka, announced the company on Monday.

This Rs 21.45 crore initiative from Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) intends to enhance governance and infrastructure management by employing Genesys' Digital Twin technology, according to a company release.

Part of the New India Map Stack, the project demonstrates the efficacy of high-precision digital twins in creating 3D models, modernizing property tax arrangements, and bolstering urban planning and governance.

The GIS mapping project, priced at Rs 1.95 crore per zone, comprises 11 zones, set to refine property tax collection and keep municipal records current.

With proprietary technology, Genesys aims to detect unregistered properties, simplify taxation, and boost urban development revenue.

Chairman and Managing Director Sajid Malik emphasized that accurate data is crucial for urban planning, stating that Genesys' Digital Twin models will equip HDMC with a comprehensive city view for real-time monitoring and robust governance.

High-resolution geospatial data is expected to enhance municipal activities, traffic control, disaster management, and infrastructure planning.

This tech-forward endeavor, in alignment with India's National Geospatial Policy 2022, underscores the progression toward data-driven urban management, encouraging the adoption of advanced technologies.
