The Rural Development Ministry has announced its objective to sanction 10 lakh houses by January 2025 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMJAY-G). This move aligns with the ministry's targets for the 2024-25 period, aiming to bolster rural development and fulfill the Prime Minister's vision of poverty eradication.
Emphasizing the importance of timely execution, the ministry has set monthly targets to ensure the effective rollout of rural schemes. This strategy forms part of a concerted effort to ensure that beneficiaries receive scheme benefits efficiently and transparently.
At a recent meeting, Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reiterated the government's commitment to creating poverty-free villages. Significant budget allocations and strategic changes in eligibility rules are expected to facilitate reaching the housing goals and improving village and rural infrastructure.
