The states of Haryana and Punjab remain enveloped in a severe cold spell, experiencing maximum temperatures far below the normal range. Residents in both regions woke up to reduced visibility due to dense fog, adding to the cold discomfort.
In Chandigarh, the cold was acutely felt as the city witnessed a maximum temperature of just 11.3 degrees Celsius, a stark seven degrees below the norm, as confirmed by local meteorological reports.
The cold wave extended its grip over several cities, with Haryana witnessing near-freezing temperatures in Ambala, Hisar, and Narnaul. In Punjab, Mohali and Amritsar experienced similar bitter conditions, as temperatures struggled to climb past 12 degrees Celsius.
