A nine-month-old female white tiger, being treated at Delhi Zoo, has succumbed to traumatic shock and acute pneumonia, officials announced on Wednesday. The cub had been under observation since September and passed away four days ago, stated zoo director Sanjeev Kumar.

'The female cub was under treatment and unfortunately died due to traumatic shock and acute pneumonia. Her samples have been sent for laboratory testing,' Kumar informed PTI. To safeguard the health of the remaining animals, preventive treatments and vigilant observation have begun for the other cubs.

An official at the zoo disclosed that three tiger cubs were admitted to the hospital for various reasons. The deceased cub had a fracture. 'The treatment for the other cubs is complete, and they are doing well,' the official added. The National Zoological Park, commonly known as Delhi Zoo, was established in 1952 and spans 176 acres under the Central government's administration.
