The infamous Tigress Zeenat, known for instilling fear among villagers across Jharkhand and West Bengal, has made her way back to the Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha. Her return marks the end of a three-week journey away from the reserve, according to officials.
Zeenat initially ventured into Jharkhand on December 8, later crossing into West Bengal, trekking over 200 km in search of new territory. Her daring escape prompted a search operation, and she was finally tranquilized in West Bengal's Bankura district before being taken to Alipore Zoo.
In a carefully coordinated effort, Zeenat was transported back to Similipal, with forest officials ensuring her safe arrival. The National Tiger Conservation Authority played a crucial role in her return, emphasizing the importance of maintaining her genetic potential for future generations.
