Bright sunny Monday in Himachal Pradesh

It was a bright sunny day in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, with temperatures remaining below the freezing point in many places in the state after three days of continuous snow and rain, a weather official said here. Rain and snow are likely to continue in the state till Tuesday, the Met Department official told IANS. Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti district, was the coldest at a minus 12 degrees Celsius.
It saw mild snow. Kalpa, around 250 km from here, recorded a low of minus 8.2 degrees Celsius. Temperature was 1 degree Celsius in Shimla and 2.8 degrees in Dharamsala. Manali, which recorded a low of minus 5 degrees Celsius, saw two cm of snow. The road link to towns in upper Shimla, which were cut off following the snow, was restored by Sunday evening, the official said. The snowy landscape in Shimla largely melted but will stay in its nearby spots such as Kufri, Chail, Fagu and Narkanda for two-three days.
