The victims, Mamta Devi, aged 34, and Suman Rajbhar, aged 45, were en route to the Ganga River for a religious bath on Kartik Purnima when the accident occurred as they crossed the railway tracks.
Despite immediate rescue efforts by nearby villagers, who rushed the injured women to the Bansdih Community Health Centre, doctors pronounced them dead upon arrival. This unfortunate event has left the local community in shock, raising concerns about pedestrian safety near railway crossings.
