Amid crippling air pollution, Delhi has intensified measures to curtail the smog shrouding the city. Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced the implementation of GRAP-3 measures due to air quality consistently sitting in the 'severe' category.
In a multi-agency collaboration effort, the city introduces additional cluster buses and restricts non-CNG buses. The transport department has deployed 84 teams and assigned 280 officers to monitor compliance, with penalties for violators.
Meanwhile, metro services will increase by 60 trips, while authorities engage in road cleaning and dust suppression tactics. Officials are rallying for public cooperation, urging residents to minimize car usage and maximize public transport use to cut down pollution.
