A sudden fire erupted on Wednesday at Sandhya Bazar near Anwar Shah Road in south Kolkata, officials confirmed. Quick action by the Fire Brigade helped control the blaze within an hour and a half.
According to a high-ranking Fire Brigade official, 16 fire tenders were rapidly deployed to tackle the inferno, which started at approximately 3:20 PM.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported, a police officer assured, as authorities managed to bring the situation under control by 4:50 PM.
