India is making its presence felt at COP29 in Baku, emphasizing accountability, green credit, and fair financing as core aspects of its strategy, according to multiple delegates. The climate conference, running from November 11-22, sees India striving for developed nations to meet climate finance commitments while promoting an equitable energy transition.

This year, India will not host a pavilion, highlighting its dual focus on economic growth and developing nation responsibilities. Led by Kirti Vardhan Singh, the Indian delegation seeks to drive conversations toward transparent, reliable climate finance.

The UN Climate Change Executive Secretary, Simon Stiell, opened the session, underscoring the urgency of coordinated global action. COP remains a crucial platform for addressing climate change, with India's strategy aimed at ensuring collective accountability in this critical race against time.
