The torrents of mud-colored water unleashed havoc from Malaga to Valencia, pushing swift currents through homes and sweeping vehicles away. Startling images captured by citizens and shared on RTVE painted a vivid picture of the devastation.
A near-tragic incident saw a high-speed train derailing near Malaga with almost 300 passengers, though miraculously no injuries occurred. Meanwhile, several commuter and high-speed train lines faced suspensions. Emergency services employed helicopters for rescue operations, with the military also supporting the efforts.
