Cyclone Dana, a severe cyclonic storm, spared Odisha's Kendrapara district on Friday, causing no loss of life and minimal property damage, according to officials.
Tidal surges did enter some villages and agricultural fields, but the extent of the damage is yet to be fully assessed. Residents and officials breathed a sigh of relief as the anticipated devastation was largely avoided.
Efforts to restore normalcy are underway, with roads being cleared and infrastructure repairs initiated. Bhitarkanika National Park, near the landfall area, also escaped major damage although further details are pending.
