The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is set to launch a groundbreaking weather forecast service that will deliver localized and precise weather forecasts at the gram panchayat level. This development, in collaboration with the India Meteorological Department, is expected to enhance disaster preparedness and bolster sustainable agricultural practices.

Scheduled for a Thursday launch, the service represents a significant stride in grassroots governance, aligning with the government's 100 Days Agenda. With the availability of real-time hourly forecasts, farmers and villagers will find themselves better equipped to face environmental challenges and improve climate resilience.

This innovative weather service will utilize digital platforms, such as e-GramSwaraj, Meri Panchayat app, and Gram Manchitra, to disseminate critical information. Additionally, SMS alerts will provide panchayat representatives with real-time warnings about extreme weather events, ensuring swift action to safeguard lives and property.
