The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into Cyclone 'Dana'. This development occurred on Wednesday morning, posing significant weather warnings for Eastern Indian coastal regions.

Moving west-northwestward at 18 km per hour, 'Dana' is slated to evolve into a severe cyclone. Current projections indicate it will sweep through between Puri in Odisha and Sagar Island in West Bengal, with gusts potentially reaching 120 km per hour.

Forecasts suggest that by early morning of October 24, the cyclone will further intensify over the northwest Bay of Bengal. Landfall is anticipated during the night of October 24 to the morning of October 25, affecting the coasts as a severe cyclonic storm.
