Two labourers were killed and another was injured when a mound of mud collapsed during construction work on Sunday in Sikanderpur Karn, according to local police reports. The deceased were identified as Shivkumar, aged 50, and Awadh Ram, aged 40.

The victims were reportedly engaged in laying a sewer pipeline when the tragic incident occurred. Ganesh, aged 35, survived and is reported to be in stable condition. Rescue efforts by locals and fellow workers played a key role in retrieving the men from the collapsed mound.

Despite prompt medical attention, Shivkumar and Awadh Ram were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Locals allege negligence in adhering to safety norms during the work. Authorities have confirmed an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.
