The National Hurricane Centre in Miami has announced the formation of Hurricane Oscar off the coast of the Bahamas. Described as 'tiny,' Oscar began on Saturday, triggering immediate concerns.
In response, the Bahamas government issued a hurricane warning for the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas. Additionally, Cuba has placed Guantanamo, Holguin, and Las Tunas under a hurricane watch, as Oscar's winds peak at 80 mph with higher gusts recorded. The storm is located roughly 165 miles southeast of the southeastern Bahamas and about 470 miles east of Camaguey, Cuba.
Simultaneously, Tropical Storm Nadine emerged off Mexico's southern Caribbean coast, moving inland over Belize. The storm brings heavy rain and adverse conditions to Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula. A storm warning is active in Belize City extending to Cancun, Mexico, including Cozumel.
