Severe rainfall since early Tuesday has disrupted daily life in central and southern Karnataka, with Bengaluru among the hardest hit areas. Significant water-logging and congestion have been reported, complicating navigation for motorists and affecting key arterial roads.
Localities like Varthur, Hebbal, and Kadubeesanahalli witnessed severe disruptions. Major technology centers such as Manyata Tech Park and Sarjapur also suffered from persistent water-logging, slowing down traffic substantially. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and traffic authorities are on high alert, with control rooms and helplines established to handle rain-related issues.
The India Meteorological Department attributes the heavy rains to a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, predicting similar conditions for northern Karnataka in the coming days. A yellow alert signals potential disruptions across multiple districts, urging residents to remain vigilant and cautious.
