P K Mishra, principal secretary to the prime minister, on Friday voiced concern over the sluggish advancement in clearing landfill sites and the delay in implementing waste-to-energy projects in Delhi.

Chairing a High-Level Task Force meeting addressing Delhi's air pollution, Mishra pressed for stronger dust control enforcement at construction sites and improved waste management practices.

Mishra urged agencies to prevent open waste burning, advocate for greening and paving of road areas to cut down dust, and stressed the demand for short and long-term strategies to mitigate air pollution in consultations with central ministries and the Delhi government.
