In Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, a fourth leopard was captured within 12 days, raising concerns over ongoing human-wildlife conflicts. A forest official reported that the leopard was caught on Wednesday night in Muravanpurva village, following the setting up of cage traps by the forest department.

The female leopard, over three years old, is currently at the range office where her health is being assessed by three doctors. Forest Range Officer DP Kanaujia and Divisional Forest Officer B Shiv Shankar noted that the decision on its release will be determined by higher authorities.

Since September 29, four leopards have been caged in response to leopard attacks on humans and livestock in neighboring villages. Previous incidents include attacks on individuals such as Madhusudan and Rehmana, and the death of Kandhai. Recently captured leopards have been released in the Trans Gerua forest of Katarniaghat.
