A Liberia-flagged tanker in the Red Sea was struck by an unidentified projectile, resulting in minor damage but no casualties, British maritime security agencies reported on Thursday.
The vessel, en route from Saudi Arabia's Jeddah to Muscat in Oman, was hit on its starboard side approximately 73 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, according to security firm Ambrey.
The tanker was subjected to further threats as two additional projectiles detonated nearby hours later. Ambrey suspects Houthi fighters, known for targeting ships in the area, were behind the attack. Despite the incident, the crew remains safe, and the vessel proceeds to its next destination.
