A Liberia-flagged tanker sustained minor damage after being struck by an unidentified projectile in the Red Sea, approximately 73 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, according to British security firm Ambrey. The incident was also confirmed by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency (UKMTO), which noted that local authorities are investigating the attack.

The tanker, en route from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Muscat, Oman, was hit on the starboard side. Ambrey reported an initial impact to the vessel's bridge, followed by two additional projectile detonations nearby hours later. Despite the attacks, the vessel did not catch fire, and no casualties were reported, UKMTO stated. The crew remain unharmed and the tanker is continuing its journey to its next port.

Ambrey has linked the attack to the Houthi targeting profile, consistent with nearly 100 reported incidents in the region by Houthi fighters since November. These acts are claimed to be in support of Palestinians amidst ongoing conflict in Gaza. Previous Houthi attacks have led to ship sinkings and seafarer casualties.
