A devastating lightning strike in Jharkhand's Latehar district resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left two others seriously injured, according to local police.

The tragic event took place in Orsapath village, located within the Mahuadanr police station area, approximately 180 km from Ranchi, during a rainstorm.

As 13 people worked on fencing a garden, they sought refuge under a culvert amid the downpour when the lightning struck nearby. Those injured were rushed to Mahuadanr community health centre, where four were pronounced dead, Dr Ravi Bhagat reported.
