Welspun Enterprises Bags Rs 1,989 Crore Tunnel Contract from BMC
Welspun Enterprises has won a Rs 1,989 crore contract from the BMC to design and build a water conveyance tunnel in Mumbai, part of a broader effort to improve water quality and support a circular economy. A subsidiary also received a Rs 24.60 crore wastewater project in Maharashtra.

Welspun Enterprises has secured a substantial contract from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to design and construct a water conveyance tunnel worth Rs 1,989 crore. This project entails creating a tertiary treated water conveyance tunnel from the Dharavi Wastewater Treatment Facility to the Ghatkopar facility.
The undertaking, valued at Rs 1,989.40 crore before GST, is expected to employ a tunnel boring machine for completion over 93 months. In addition, Welspun Michigan Engineers, a subsidiary, has received a Rs 24.60 crore contract for wastewater treatment in Maharashtra.
B K Goenka, Chairman of Welspun World, underscored the company's commitment to sustainable infrastructure. "We are focused on growth and green objectives," Goenka said, noting that the projects will enhance water quality and contribute to a circular economy through wastewater reuse.
