In a troubling escalation, a Russian attack on Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, injured 21 people, including a child, on Tuesday, according to regional officials.

Governor Oleh Syniehubov communicated via Telegram that the assault damaged crucial infrastructure, prompting authorities to verify the weaponry involved. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov indicated that a civilian production site was likely struck, resulting in a fire.

This attack follows last week's bombing of a five-story apartment block, which injured 10. Kharkiv, a city close to Russia's border, has been repeatedly targeted since Moscow's full-scale invasion commenced in February 2022.
