Bihar Battles Rising Flood Waters: Relief Efforts in Full Swing
Flood waters continue to pose challenges in Bihar as rivers exceed danger levels. The state government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, steps up relief measures, including air-dropping food supplies and deploying rescue teams to 17 affected districts. Infrastructure enhancement projects are also underway to aid traffic flow.

The flood situation in Bihar remains critical as of Thursday, with rivers like Kosi, Gandak, and Ganga flowing above the danger threshold across several districts. According to officials, the Water Resources Department is vigilant, ensuring flood protection work continues where needed.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assessed the situation firsthand at Patna's Gandhi Ghat, observing a slight improvement in the Ganga's water level. The state's disaster management is actively engaged, deploying Indian Air Force helicopters to air-drop food packets and supplies in 17 flood-stricken districts across the state.
Meanwhile, infrastructure advancements are also receiving attention, with the Chief Minister laying foundation stones for new Centres of Excellence in Industrial Training Institutes and inaugurating transit links like the Krishna Ghat link and Gaighat up-ramp link to ease local traffic. Relief efforts are bolstered by 33 NDRF and SDRF teams alongside 975 boats operating in the area.
