Tragic Drownings in Bihar: Six Lives Lost in Separate Incidents

At least six people, including two boy Scouts, have tragically drowned in two separate incidents in Bihar, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
One incident took place in Gaya, where two boy Scouts, acting as volunteers during the Pitru Paksha Mela, drowned while bathing in the Phalgu river. While three other Scouts were rescued by the State Disaster Management Authority, the district administration announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh for the families of the deceased.
In another distressing incident on Tuesday evening, four people, including two teenage girls, lost their lives in Sitamarhi district. According to District Magistrate Richie Pandey, the victims fell into a pond in the Bathnaha area and drowned. Local police and SDRF personnel retrieved their bodies and rescued one individual, who is currently in stable condition.
