In a tragic incident that unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, two siblings lost their lives while four family members sustained injuries when their house collapsed due to heavy rainfall in Inder Garh area, police reported.
The mishap took place around 3 am as the family of six — Ramdas (45), his wife Phaguni (40), and their children Vivek (10), Vikas (2), Anjali (14), and Sarita (12) — were asleep in their dilapidated home, stated Station House Officer (SHO) Parul Chaudhary.
According to Chaudhary, the structure had been weakened by persistent heavy rains, eventually causing the house to cave in and trap the family underneath the debris. The sudden collapse triggered a panic among the villagers, who then alerted the authorities and assisted in a rescue mission. The injured were initially rushed to Haseran's Primary Health Center (PHC) and later referred to Tirwa Medical College. Tragically, Vivek and Sarita did not survive their injuries at the medical college, the officer confirmed. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
