Himachal Pradesh witnessed light rains, leading to the closure of 22 roads, officials confirmed on Sunday. The highest number of closures occurred in Kangra district with ten roads, followed by Sirmaur with seven, Mandi with three, and Kullu with two, according to the state emergency operation centre (SEOC).

Power supply across the state has been severely impacted, with 148 schemes reported as affected. Palampur experienced the highest rainfall since Saturday evening with 13.6 mm, while Nahan recorded 13.4 mm, and Dhaulakuan received 9 mm. Minimal showers were noted in Kangra and Neri during this period. The local meteorological department has predicted dry weather conditions until October 5.

Officials stated that the current monsoon deficit stands at 18 per cent, with Himachal Pradesh receiving 597.9 mm of rainfall since June 1, against an average of 732.1 mm. Since the onset of the monsoon on June 27, the state has reported 186 deaths due to rain-related incidents, with 28 individuals still missing. The estimated financial loss stands at Rs 1,360 crore.
