Hurricane Helene: Category 4 Menace Approaches Florida's Big Bend

Helene has intensified into an extremely dangerous category 4 hurricane and continues to head for Florida's Big Bend region, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Thursday.

Hurricane Helene is located about 210 miles (335 km) southwest of Tallahassee, Florida, with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph (209 kph), the Miami-based forecaster said.
