In a significant milestone for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in India, Jio-bp, a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and global energy giant BP, inaugurated its 500th EV-charging station in Mumbai. This development was officially marked by Anant Mukesh Ambani, Director of RIL, and Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp.

The new charging station, located at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, highlights Jio-bp's rapid growth in the past year, expanding its network from 1,300 to 5,000 stations. The firm boasts a 95% fast-charging network, the highest in the industry, with an uptime of 96%, making it the most reliable in India.

Anant Ambani stated that Jio-bp holds a pioneering role in accelerating EV adoption in India through its comprehensive, digitised charging solutions. Preferring sustainable green mobility, Jio-bp leverages solar power plants of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, aligning with bp's vision of becoming an integrated energy company by focusing on scale, speed, and strategic locations.
